Protect Jackson Hole Forever through Planned Giving

Leaving the Best Legacy
As Jackson Hole becomes more popular and populated, conflicts between conservation and exploitation will only intensify. Consequently, the need for the work and dedication of the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance will become more and more important with each passing year.

Please consider a planned gift to the Conservation Alliance. The unspoiled wildlands, clear vistas and wildlife of Jackson Hole are the best legacy we can leave for the future.

How does it work?
There are several ways to plan a gift to the Conservation Alliance for the future. Many of these options have tax benefits:

• Remember us in your will with a gift of cash or other assets. You can also give a percentage of your estate or a residual amount of your estate.

• Name the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance in your life insurance policy as a beneficiary, or transfer a paid-up policy to us.

• Name us as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or pension plan. Doing so will eliminate the estate and income taxes on those plans.

• A newly reinstated federal law allows people over age 70 1/2 to make charitable gifts up to $100,000 through 2009 from their traditional IRAs tax free. Click here for details.

How to make a planned gift:
Use the following language for your planned gift:

I hereby give, devise, and bequeath to Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance (always spell out our full name)

You may make a specific bequest as follows:
the sum of $__________ or

the property described as _____________________________________________
__________________________________________________________________

You may make a residual bequest of assets remaining after all other specific bequests have been satisfied as follows:
the rest, remainder and residue of my estate, or

____% (or fractional interest) of the rest, remainder, and residue of my estate.

You may make a contingent bequest to take effect only if those named as primary beneficiaries predecease you as follows:
If any or all of the above named beneficiaries do not survive me, then I hereby give the share that otherwise would be (his/hers/theirs) to the Jackson Hole Conservation Alliance charitable organization.

You may make a general bequest from your estate as follows:
the sum of $__________, or _____%, or _____ fractional interest of my estate.

Designations: (if for a specific project, program, or use)

It is my desire and instruction that this bequest to the charitable organization be used for the following purposes: _______________________________________
_________________________________________________________________

Provisions under the will can also be structured in such a way as to utilize and fund additional life income gifts or deferred gift arrangements.

The staff at the Conservation Alliance is unable to give legal or tax advice, so please consult with your lawyer and tax advisor when changing the language in your will, trust, life insurance policy, retirement plan or pension plan. If you have any questions, contact our office at (307) 733-9417.
