These options are shortsighted\, they threaten wetlands and wildlife\, and they will not alleviate traffic congestion. \n  \nOn Monday\, June 30\, at 9:00 a.m.\, the Board of County Commissioners will workshop a letter in response to the proposed expansion. Attend the meeting in person or join Zoom. Please provide comments at the meeting and encourage Commissioners to:  \n\n\n\n\n\nRequest an EIS (Environmental Impact Study) rather than an EA (Environmental Assessment)\, as the latter is less thorough. \nAsk for an alternative option to address congestion\, such as adding turn lanes\, acceleration lanes\, and traffic circles\, rather than just widening the road between bottlenecks.\nConsider the concept of induced demand: when roads are widened\, more people will drive on them\, ultimately leading to expanded roads becoming just as congested as before. \n\n\n\n\n\n  \nJoin JHCA on Monday morning and let the Commissioners know we want innovative solutions for our roadways.
