This week we’re honored to spotlight our longtime friend and supporter, Jean Barash! Jean first came to Jackson when she was a young girl while on a family road trip across the country. The beauty of Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone were unlike anything Jean had seen before, and they left a lasting impression on her. Years later, she decided to fulfill her dream of moving to this magical place, and has lived in Jackson for almost 30 years.
Shortly after moving to Jackson, Jean became aware and concerned about a proposed development within Grand Teton National Park. She reached out to the Alliance about her concerns. She heard back from the organization – which verified her information – and set up a meeting with local stakeholders to resolve the situation. “It was amazing,” she recalls, “[the Alliance] got back to me almost immediately! I was very impressed.”
Since then, Jean has been involved in a number of Alliance campaigns, including Heli-No, Safe Wildlife Crossings, and the current development of Northern South Park. In all her work and support, she hopes to protect Jackson Hole and keep it as special for her children and grandchildren as it was to her when she was a young girl.
Thank you for your support and everything you do for us, Jean!
