Originally from New Hampshire, Liv came to Jackson 4 years ago for bigger mountains and deeper snow. She graduated from St. Lawrence University with a degree in Environmental Studies and Sociology, and has remained passionate about human impact and the complicated reality of coexistence in these wild spaces. During her university years, she spent one summer as a congressional intern in D.C. learning the power of community-organizing and local government, and another summer bike-packing across Montana studying the socio-ecological interactions of climate change. Liv is eager to continue her passion for policy development and love of the outdoors with the Alliance.
In her years of doing the dance of seasonal, service oriented jobs in Jackson, Liv has always stood by her desire to learn more and be an active community member. Graduating from the Alliance’s Conservation Leadership Institute in the fall of 2021, she was inspired by grassroots activism and local policy, and also worked with the Riverwind Foundation as a Sustainable Business Leaders Associate, connecting with local business and restaurant owners to strive for a more sustainably-minded community.
Liv spends her free time skiing, trail running, floating the river, baking, or cuddling with her big, orange cat, Cheddar.
