Development and Communications Coordinator
Stefano was born in the Venezuelan Andes but migrated to Toronto, Canada as a refugee when he was six years old. As a young boy, he spent his summers camping the national parks of northern Ontario, where he first discovered his love of nature and wildlife. Stefano graduated with a B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology with a minor in Business from the University of Rochester in 2018. Throughout his college career, he studied and worked for various organizations and reserves in some of the wildest places in the world including the Amazon Rainforest, Southern Africa, and the Galapagos Islands.
His experiences abroad motivated him to launch his own nature inspired clothing brand called Zeyba. The company was started with the mission to “inspire individuals through nature, promote a sustainable lifestyle, and support the conservation of all wild things.” Stefano recruited artists from around the world to design collections and manufactured all apparel using high quality, sustainable fabrics. Additionally, Zeyba used a percentage of its profits to fund its own conservation projects, which included a local beach cleanup and a wildlife documentary in South Africa.
Stefano is a strong believer in community-based conservation action. He hopes to inspire all to be lovers and caretakers of our planet by engaging individuals in creative and innovative ways. When he is not working, Stefano enjoys traveling to exotic places, listening to music, and hiking with his friends, his mom, or his Italian mastiff puppy, Tito.
