Kathy Gross

Board Member

Kathy first arrived in Jackson Hole with her parents and young siblings in the early 70s to backpack in the Teton and Wind River Ranges. She still remembers being awed by the dramatic beauty of Jackson Hole at nine years old. She attended both middle and early high school in Jackson before her family headed to the East Coast. At Dartmouth College, she met and married her husband, Mark, and raised their children near the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Jackson Hole was always a part of her life with many visits to her parents for hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and skiing. She and Mark have had a home here since 2014, where they live mostly full-time.

Kathy ran her family's business that manufactured, installed, and maintained platform tennis courts throughout the country. She was Chair of the Board and Finance Chair of the Waldorf School, where her children attended, which emphasizes experiential and nature-based learning. With a son who now works in wind energy and a daughter who writes about wilderness adventures and wildfires, she is happy that her love of the outdoors has been passed on to the next generation.

Having seen so much change in the valley in the last 50 years, Kathy is grateful to be on the board of the JH Conservation Alliance.
