Rebecca McKay Singer

Community Engagement and Project Coordinator

Rebecca brings enthusiasm and 18 years of conservation experience to the Alliance and its community engagement program. Rebecca is passionate about community empowerment and uplifting local voices. As the Community Engagement and Project Coordinator, she brings a unique background in biology, outreach, communications, community organizing, science education, and policy. She began her conservation career working for state and federal agencies and regional land trusts focused on land and wildlife conservation, public recreation, agricultural preservation, and diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

She first fell in love with Wyoming and its open spaces, wildlife, and conservation challenges while working on wolf and elk studies with the University of Wyoming in 2008. A decade later, as fate would have it, she also fell in love with Jackson resident, Samuel Singer, and they now have two girls, Simone (2) and Ariyeh (3 months). They enjoy exploring the Gros Ventre River, local trails, star-filled skies, and mud puddles together.

Rebecca earned a BA in Environmental Science from Barnard College and a Masters in Environmental Science from the Yale School of the Environment. She has served as a volunteer grant writer, wildlife rehabilitator, and non-profit board member. When she has spare time, she helps chop firewood and likes to trail run with her family’s two big mutts, Grover and Monte.
