Alliance awarded “Partners in Conservation” grant from Teton Conservation District

The grant will partially fund the “Wild Neighborhoods” program to create, publish, and distribute a Teton County Wildlife Coexistence Community Monitoring Report

The Alliance’s Wild Neighborhoods program was recently awarded a 2022-23 Teton Conservation District “Partners in Conservation” grant to partially fund the creation of a Teton County Wildlife Coexistence Community Monitoring Report.

Wild Neighborhoods is a coalition of local nonprofits and agencies that seeks to reduce conflict and promote coexistence with wildlife through proactive community engagement. This new monitoring report will bring together multiple data sources and stakeholder perspectives to evaluate Teton County’s current state of wildlife coexistence, envision community goals, and present actionable recommendations.

With extensive input from interviews with local experts, we aim to identify the most relevant and useful metrics of coexistence, establishing a baseline of data that will track our community’s coexistence successes and challenges over time.

We look forward to collaborating with Teton Conservation District on the creation and distribution of this report, which will advocate for the wildlife populations, natural resources, and human-wildlife communities of Teton County. Thank you for the support and partnership!
