Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) Pushed Back Again
The newest word on the street is that Region 4 Forest Service Office in Ogden, UT has not accepted SE Group’s (contractor) current Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Targhee Proposed Expansion due to deficiencies in the draft. This caused Region 4 to instruct the Caribou-Targhee National Forest to send the DEIS back to SE Group again for further revision. This additional revision will delay the release of the DEIS yet again for an unknown period of time. We extend a thank you to all involved in upholding the rigor of the DEIS to ensure accurate data and analysis can inform environmentally conscious land management decisions moving forward!
