County Commissioners and Town Council continue to discuss SPET Measures

County Commissioners and Town Council continue to discuss SPET Measures

Which measures will be approved to benefit the community?

Teton County Commissioners and Jackson Town Councilors will continue discussions about this year’s Specific Purpose Excise Tax (SPET) projects. This voter-approved sales tax provides an important funding mechanism for community priorities, and we are excited to support many worthy projects under consideration .

The Alliance would like to see projects that align with our mission to protect the wildlife, wildlands, and community character of Jackson Hole. We support the array of affordable housing proposals and believe that this pressing community need should receive significant funds. Other noteworthy SPET proposals the Alliance supports include funding for education and fire services. .

We have asked Town Councilors and County Commissioners to approve projects that fund sustainable transportation, conservation, and water quality. We urge you to voice your support for the Water Quality Master Plan, conservation leasing program, energy conservation fund, and public transit and pathways proposals.
