WYDOT staff to visit Jackson

The Teton Transportation Coalition looks forward to a visit from WYDOT Director, Luke Reiner and Chief Engineer, Mark Gillett

On July 25, staff from the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) will visit Jackson for several meetings. Director, Luke Reiner, Chief Engineer, Mark Gillett, and District 3 staff will begin by meeting with the Teton Transportation Coalition (TTC), including Alliance staff, to discuss possible proactive measures to ease construction impacts during the Snake River Bridge construction that will begin in summer 2023. Read the letter the TTC sent to the Board of County Commissioners here for more details.

WYDOT representatives will then meet with the Teton County Board of County Commissioners to discuss the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP). The STIP is required by federal law and identifies anticipated projects and funding for projects occurring in the next 6 years, including highway improvements, aeronautics, transit, public safety communications, and capital construction. The STIP includes engineering input, economic input, and public involvement to identify transportation needs and prioritize projects.

The public is invited to attend a meeting on August 10 at the Teton County Library from 4:30 to 6:30pm. If unable to attend on that date, you can visit www.dot.state.wy.us/STIP to learn more about WYDOT’s 2023-2028 State Transportation Improvement Program and provide your own feedback on what improvements are important to you.
