Save the Date – Help Protect Fish Creek – June 9

On Friday, June 9, the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (WYDEQ), Water Quality, will hold a public meeting at the Old Wilson School. The purpose is to discuss the issuance of water quality permit for a septic facility on the premises of the Basecamp “Glamping” operation, currently being built on the Village Road.

The facility, which is to be built on the Basecamp operation – the white geodesic domes off the Village Road south of Teton Village threatens to pollute Fish Creek and the wetlands that surround it. WYDEQ has selected Friday, June 9 at 5:30 PM to hold a public meeting to hear the concerns of the people of Teton County. The timing appears to be an effort to limit public comment on the facility.

It is important that the people of Teton County provide a lot of public comment, providing their concern about the placement of a septic system for a commercial lodging business in an area of wetlands and feeding into the Federally protected Fish Creek.

Those who participate in the Public Meeting/Comment session are invited to Pizza and an update on the State Trust Lands at Owen Bircher Park, across the street from the Wilson School.

Join your fellow concerned citizens and participate in this critical meeting!
